Outdoor yoga – can’t wait!

Square

Last summer, one of the nicest things I did was teach outdoors on Friday evenings. Im thrilled to be starting again from the 7 May.

There is something very special about practicing in the open air surrounded by trees, listening to the breath, the birds and feeling a lovely connection to nature. The sunsets at the location are pretty spectacular too.

These classes are suitable for all levels – beginners are more than welcome.

Top tips for outdoor practice

A couple of things will make your yoga session more comfortable.

– A good non slip yoga mat is essential when the grass gets wet, to stop you slipping.

– Wear layers – we move more if it is chillier, so having things you can get on and off quickly is a good idea.

– We practice in bare feet, if you are worried about cold toes – ask me about yoga socks. I have a little supply of reasonably priced ones that support the foot, are non slip and allow the foot to move. Message for details.

– Sunscreen and water. Always a good idea. As can be bug repellant.

– Props. If you know, you know. Yoga props help you get the most out of your practice. Ekotex Yoga sell ethical, good kit. I would recommend a belt and couple of brick shaped blocks. If you don’t want to spend out, then a belt that isn’t stretchy and a chunky brick sized book or two can work really well. Obviously don’t bring your favourite reads as the grass can sometimes be a little damp.
